Singing with Nature

Songwriting with Nature

A workshop in foraging for seeds of inspiration, bridging dimensions and tuning into the wisdom and melodies of the natural world.

About this event

Join Cornish contemporary folk artist Elowen Waters for an immersive, outdoor songwriting workshop rooted in nature connection and creative play. Through gently guided group song, solo exploration, and distilling of foraged ieas, we'll create melodies and lyrics inspired by the living world around us.

Expect a welcoming, informal space with relaxed opening and closing circles, intuitive songwriting prompts, and time to walk, listen, write, and reflect. Together we’ll explore foraging as a metaphor for creativity - gathering textures, smells, stories, and sounds from the land as starting points for song. Whether you're drawn to lyrics, melody, rhythm, or just want to connect with nature, this workshop invites you to reconnect with your own creative instincts and try new things.

You don’t need to be a professional musician, just open to the process. Though we'll all hopefully come away with a song, this is about tuning in, letting go, and equipping you with the tools to clear pathways to connection, creativity and play.

Please bring:

-An instrument if you have one (you don't need to be a pro, just something to play around with) but no pressure, there will be spares!

-A notebook and pen

-Your voice

-Outdoor appropriate clothing and footwear

-Something waterproof to sit on (we'll be outside but have a shelter in case it rains)

-An open mind and willingness to engage!

All levels of experience welcome. Come as you are.
