Mount Carlees Farm
On Sunday 4th May nearly two dozen folks from the Lizard and surrounding districts gathered in the sunshine at Mount Carlees Farm near Ruan Major.
We were treated to a guided tour of the farm's pasture, nature-rich scrub and moorland by Peter Noble, who with his late wife has spent the past twenty five years cherishing this land and fostering its potential for positive interactions between people and nature. Peter's sympathetic approach to landownership has enabled the local wildlife to thrive, whilst at the same time providing an essential resource for young horticultural entrepreneurs to grow food for the community.
After the tour, we enjoyed a delicious al fresco lunch provided by Ronnie and Diana Gonzales and others. We all left inspired and enthused, and look forward to the next get-together of the Any Size Landowners group, which will take place, hopefully in June, in the Godolphin Cross area (date to be confirmed).
