Bat Survey
We had the first Wildlife Groundswell Bat Group field visit on 14 May 2025 at the National Trust's Penrose Estate, with 15 of us enjoying a walk along Loe Pool. We had over 300 soprano pipistrelle bats emerge from their roost around sunset, which, as you can imagine, was an amazing sight! We also heard and saw common pipistrelle, noctule, lesser horseshoe bat, greater horseshoe bat and Western Barbastelle flying and foraging over the trees. Let's hope we are as fortunate on all the trips this year!
